Lawrence Ingvaldson, 1931-2018

Lawrence Allen Ingvaldson, 86, of Ellendale passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Koda Living Community in Owatonna.

Lawrence was born on March 2, 1931, to Melvin and Alma (Hendrickson) Ingvaldson in Newry Township near Blooming Prairie. He attended Newry Township country school.

Lawrence was united in marriage to Marian Jean Hensrud on Feb. 24, 1952, and raised their family and farmed in Steele County. Lawrence was a dairy farmer, raised corn and soybeans and loved the farm life. He enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting, fishing and bird feeding.

Lawrence is survived by two sons, Douglas (Darise) Ingvaldson of Owatonna and Darrell (Diane) Ingvaldson of Austin; grandchildren Christina Ingvaldson of Owatonna, Patrick (Jenny Hoffman) Ingvaldson of Owatonna, Nancy (Travis) Hamilton of Elkton, Anne Ingvaldson of Duluth; six great-grandchildren; brothers Ernie (Jean) Ingvaldson of Albert Lea, Jerry (Karen) Ingvaldson of Dodge Center and LeRoy (Linda) Ingvaldson of Owatonna; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian; parents Melvin and Alma Ingvaldson; sisters Marion Hensrud and Betty in infancy.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. The Rev. Heidi Heimgartner officiated. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Interment will follow the service at First Lutheran Cemetery in rural Blooming Prairie. Memorials can be directed to Koda Living Community of Owatonna, Heartland Hospice or donor’s choice.
