Sons of Norway Normanna Lodge No. 52 will offer a $1,200 scholarship to a person who has completed at least two years of college and shows an interest in Scandinavian studies — including arts and crafts, history, music, international studies, language literature, politics, folklore, mythology, men and women, among others — and has maintained a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
The money will be paid to the recipient’s college on Dec. 1 after a statement is received from the college indicating enrollment.
The student has no obligation to Normanna Lodge following acceptance of the scholarship.
The money used for the scholarship has been given by Shirley M. Bartholomew, Bertha Weiks and other members and friends of Sons of Norway, Normanna Lodge No. 52 in Albert Lea.
Applications may be requested from Sons of Norway Lodge No. 52 Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 875, Albert Lea, MN 56007. Completed applications should be postmarked by April 15. Applicants are asked to request their college send a transcript of their credits to the same address by April 15, as well.
