Church plans Lenten events

Salem Lutheran Church will begin the Lenten season Tuesday with a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper from 4 to 6 p.m., according to a press release. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce and drinks. The price is $8 for all-you-can-eat meals. Children 5 and under eat for free. There will also be pancake games for all ages. Money raised will be used to purchase a new computer for the church’s finance office.
On Wednesday, there will be two Ash Wednesday worship services with holy communion and the imposition of ashes. The morning service begins at 11 a.m. with a luncheon following, and a supper at 5 p.m. with the service beginning at 6 p.m.
The mid-week Lent services beginning Feb. 21 through March 21 will be at 11 a.m., followed by a soup and sandwich luncheon. The Lenten services will center around David Lose’s “Making Sense of the Cross.” All are welcome to join the church.
Salem Lutheran is a handicap-accessible church at 115 N. Washington Ave.
