A Walters man who assaulted a woman he knew in October pleaded guilty Thursday in Freeborn County District Court.

Victor Andreas Stafne, 29, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic assault.

Court documents state Stafne was charged after a deputy responded to a report of a domestic assault early in the morning of Oct. 1 at an address in Freeborn.

The victim had blood on her and a long scratch from her neck to her chin, court documents state.

Stafne and the victim both showed signs of alcohol consumption.

Stafne was charged with domestic assault by strangulation, but that charge was dismissed.

In a separate file, Stafne pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor harassment restraining order violation.

Sentencing on the two files are scheduled for April 12.
