Tigers hockey grabs its 15th victory of the season

The Albert Lea boys’ hockey team hit the road Saturday as it traveled to Winona to take on the struggling Winhawks.

Just two days after a big win over Mankato East, the Tigers cruised to a blowout victory over the Winhawks, 8-1.

After a scoreless first period, the Tigers took control of the game with three goals in the second period.

The first goal came from Campbell Chicosz; he was assisted by Noah Karge and Culley Larson.

Bergan Lundak scored the second goal of the period off an assist from Michael Savelkoul.

Savelkoul would reverse the roles just 13 seconds later, when he scored a goal on an assist from Lundak.

The third period saw goals from Carson Goodell and Alex Ulve, and had Savelkoul, Chicosz and Lundak scoring their second goals of the game.

Savelkoul, Lundak, Karge and Alex Goodmanson recorded assists in the final period.

Albert Lea has three games left in the regular season and will be back in action Tuesday when it hosts Rochester John Marshall in the final home game of the regular season.
