Letter: A tribute to Mayo’s ambulatory ward

What a day! Albert Lea ice is not nice!

When I need to walk on it, I toss the dice?

And go ever so slow, but I still can fall.

Of course, it can really happen to us all!

With a fall that felt like a crazy flip!

As my rotator cup decided to rip.

After visiting the orthopedic doctor and my regular doctor, to their accord.

Making an appointment for the ambulatory ward, all of it on time, never being bored.

At the ward, welcomed as if entering heaven,

With a great team, I’ll say at least 11.

Like being surrounded by angels in each room.

Not far away from me, beyond the door watched my groom.

Without a fear or care in this world,

Secured by prayers as angels wings whirled!

Surgery was a success, home the same day.

Pleased and grateful for their angelic way.

Nothing to fear in the ambulatory ward.

May the rest of the hospital get to stay on board!
