In reference to Mr. Bob A. Goldman’s letter to the editor on Feb. 17:

There are many gun laws now, but they are not enforced.

This young man had mental health issues. Many times the police were called because of his acts of violence, and the FBI had been alerted of his threat to become a professional school shooter, and nothing was done to stop him. The people who took care of him knew he had mental health issues and were aware he had an AR-15. I find it hard to believe there were no signs he could become violent, how about you?

People talk and want more gun laws. What if every honest, sensible person was trained and carried a gun? Would this stop bad guys before they could complete their plan?

It was an honest citizen in Texas who helped stop that killer!

God forbid we ever have enemy boots in our streets, but if we should, our police will need all the help they can get.
