The Ventura Edge Committee at Ventura Foods recently hosted a food drive to support the Eagles Club annual food drive on March 10.

The Eagles Club planned a night of music and fun to bring in food and money donations for the Salvation Army in Albert Lea.

Two Ventura employees participated in the event by playing in their bands throughout the night. The bands included Flashback, Single Digit and Wicked Renegades. All of the bands played for free to support the effort.

Overall, the event raised 355 pounds of food and $255. As a company, Ventura brought in 563 pounds of food, making the total contribution approximately 900 pounds. Ventura also matched the contributions made by employees at $1 per pound of food brought in. Salvation Army Maj. Sandra Hunt and Lt. Gloria Pelayo stopped by to pick up the check to go toward items for the food shelf, which supports the Freeborn County area.
