Two area schools participated in a recent Trig Star program. The program is an annual competition that recognizes the best students of trigonometry from high schools throughout Minnesota, according to a press release. The Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors Chapter One sponsored the event on March 9 at South Central College campus in Mankato.
The program consisted of a one-hour written exam, followed by small group presentations on land surveying and an awards ceremony. Eight different high schools participated in the event, including United South Central and NRHEG. Other schools who participated included Fairmont, Lake Crystal-Welcome Memorial, Mankato West, Nicollet, St. Mary’s from Sleepy Eye and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.
