Funeral services for Dawn L. Runden will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Sean Forde will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery.

Dawn passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 2, 2018. She was 86.

Dawn LaVonne (Sorenson) Runden was born April 19, 1931, in Albert Lea to Carl and Mabel Sorenson. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea High School.

On Oct. 18, 1958, she married Harold Runden at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Dawn was a member of First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea, serving on the caring and sharing group for many years. She worked at and would retire from Farmstead, where she was a night billing clerk. Dawn enjoyed working in her flower garden, where she would meticulously take care of her plants and flowers. Dawn was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. She also enjoyed morning coffee outings with her family.

Dawn is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold Runden; daughter, Mary Runden; brother, Herbert (Caroline) Sorenson; sister, Charlotte Vinge; sister-in-law, Phyllis Sorenson; and nieces and nephews Mark, Larry, Steve, Julie (Joe), Gary (Loel) Cindy, Gary, Steve (Julie), Cheryl (Rick), Randy, David (Patti) and Diane (Jim).

She is preceded in death by both parents, Carl and Mabel Sorenson; mother- and father in-law Henry and Hannah Runden; brothers Le Moyne (Lorraine) Sorenson and Roger Sorenson; brother in-law, Duane Vinge; sisters-in-law Marvel (Clayton) Severtson, Charlotte (Clifford) Bye and Louise (Orrin) Bye; and nieces Diane and Jane.
