Health center to offer free mammograms

Open Door Health Center will host a breast cancer screening event at Riverland Community College in Austin from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the west building’s room B101 at 1900 Eighth Ave. NW in Austin. The screenings, which include a breast exam as well as a mammogram, will be available to women ages 40 and over who are due or overdue for these services.

Breast health education and refreshments will be available to all attendees. Although there may be some same-day availability, patients are encouraged to schedule appointments in advance by calling at 507-344-5710.

The Sage Screening Programs help keep Minnesotans healthy through screening and early detection of breast, cervical and colorectal cancers. Screenings are provided at participating locations free of charge to people who qualify.
