Joan E. Jespersen, 85, died Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. The Rev. Mary Iverson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Freeborn Cemetery in Freeborn. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home is assisting the family. Joan was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Alden, the daughter of Bernhardt and Nora (Millhouse) Jespersen. Joan was a care provider to children and the elderly throughout the years. Joan was often seen around town on her daily walks and enjoyed country music and the Minnesota Twins. She also did needle point and jigsaw puzzles. Joan was a very caring and devoted person to her church and all the people she came in contact with.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Jespersen.

She is survived by her brothers Roger (Susan) Jespersen of Mankato and Donald (Pam) Jespersen of Wells; sisters Cheryl Dorquast of Elmore and Betty (Tom) Schuster of Baudette; and several nieces and nephews.
