Showing appreciation for teachers

Published 8:54 pm Wednesday, May 9, 2018

Hollandale Christian School eighth-graders showed their appreciation for their teachers by making them breakfast Monday morning. Stephanie Loverink — mom of Lucas Loverink, who graduates this year — organized the breakfast. Hunter Muilenburg’s family contributed farm fresh eggs and Kendra Smeby’s mom, Cindy, assisted. All this week, parents are helping with recess duty, contributing teacher treats and serving the teachers a lunch later in the week organized by Harmony Helpers chairwoman Lenette Baron. Hollandale Christian School teachers are Enno Haan, principal and seventh- and eighth-grade teacher; Sara Brouwer, seventh- and eighth-grade teacher and physical education teacher; Stephanie McCarthy, fifth- and sixth-grade teacher; Tayna Theesfeld, third- and fourth-grade teacher; Krysti Cameron, first- and second-grade teacher; Coleen Olmsted, kindergarten teacher; Kristin Irvine, first-grade reading and Title 1; Lorene Strobel, music teacher; and Aimee Chalmers, band teacher. – Provided
