HOLLANDALE — Hollandale Christian School is preparing to begin another year of providing students with a Biblically-based, Christ-centered education.

The year will start the school’s annual back-to-school night, which will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 21, the day prior to classes starting at the private school.

Those who are considering enrolling or transferring their child to the school will need to start the process before that date, though, as Hollandale Christian School has a formal process parents need to go through for their children to be accepted at the school. Part of the process includes filing an application, an interview with a school board member and applying for financial assistance, if needed.

According to Hollandale Christian School Principal Enno Haan, the cost to educate each student is approximately $5,600, but the school hosts fundraisers throughout the school year to help defer the educational costs. Tuition assistance is also available to those who qualify to ensure parents can still provide their children with a Christian education, even if they cannot bare the full cost of tuition, which is $4,200 per student.

The financial support the school receives through fundraisers is vital to the school, as it is not a parochial school that receives financial support from one church. Haan said the school has approximately 82 students in kindergarten to eighth grade who are members of many surrounding communities and represent over 20 area churches.
