2 new pediatricians join Mayo Clinic

The team of pediatricians at Mayo Clinic Health System is growing to better serve the primary care needs of children and adolescents in the communities of Albert Lea and Austin, according to a press release. Bianca Johnson and Francesca McCutcheon recently joined the team of physicians who provide expert care just for children.

Bianca Johnson

Johnson attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree and earned her medical degree at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her pediatric residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Professionally, she enjoys the full spectrum of pediatric and adolescent care. In her time outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, horseback riding and skiing.

McCutcheon obtained an undergraduate and medical degree from the University of California San Diego. She completed her pediatric residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She is fluent in Spanish. Her special interests include newborns, growth and development of children of all ages, preventative care and adolescent medicine.

The two new pediatricians join the team of pediatric providers in Albert Lea and Austin including Sarah Scherger,  Shayana Desilva, Jenna Wheeler Anderson, Vijay Venugopal and Ayokunle Olubaniyi.

Francesca McCutcheon

Pediatricians care for children from birth to age 18. In addition to treating acute illness, they also perform well-child visits and immunizations, conduct sports physicals, manage chronic diseases and disorders, and work together with parents to keep children healthy and safe.

Parents and children will be able to meet and talk to pediatricians and learn about their special skills and interests in an out-of-office setting from 2 to 3:30 p.m. today at Wind Down Wednesday in Albert Lea.
