Letter to the Editor: Get involved in the DFL effort

Published 10:00 pm Monday, August 20, 2018

The Freeborn County DFL Party headquarters is open. We had our spectacular grand opening last Thursday at our headquarters building at 1329 E. Main St. (next to Perkins).

Live music (thank you Aaron and Ariel Winter), good food in our potluck and bake sale (thank you volunteers) and great conversations made for an enthusiastic and exciting time.

Terry Gjersvik, our hard-working local candidate for 27A, expressed his gratitude to the crowd of 75 people present for their support and work on behalf of his campaign and their work for progressive values.

Terry has knocked on over 5,000 doors, talked and listened to thousands of constituents, has a wide range of experience and is ready to serve our district.

Those interested in getting involved in the Gjersvik campaign or those of other Democrats (Dan Feehan for Congress, Tim Walz for governor,  Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith for senators, Steve Simon for secretary of state, Keith Ellison for attorney general and Pat Blaha for state auditor) should contact the headquarters.

Our headquarters is scheduled to be open from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We have signs and information for volunteering for DFL candidates at the headquarters. The DFL headquarters phone number is 507-668-4010.

We encourage you to get involved in any way that works for you: Put up a sign, make a contribution, help with door knocking, have a coffee event for Terry or help with get-out-the-vote efforts. We need you, and we welcome you.
