AmericInn robbed at gunpoint

An unknown male reportedly robbed AmericInn at gunpoint Saturday night, according to Albert Lea police.

The Albert Lea Police Department received a call of an armed robbery at 8:54 p.m. at the hotel, at 811 Plaza Street, according to a press release. The male reportedly brandished a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Albert Lea officers and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the hotel, but were unable to locate the suspect, the release stated.

No injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
