Letter: People are most important part about government

The season of soup and pie suppers has begun. Central Freeborn Lutheran Church just had its soup and pie supper (one of my favorites) this past Monday. I was very sad to have missed it, as I was home sick, but some good friends were nice enough to bring me back some soup and pie, so I was able to have a taste. Scrumptious!

One of my favorite parts of my job as state representative is to get out and around to events and visit with people — soup and pies, Wind Down Wednesday, farm field days, area coffees, etc. I believe people are the most important part of government and that the best ideas come from those who are living and working right here at home. That’s why I make a point to get out into our communities year-round to visit with people. I love talking and chatting with all of you, hearing what’s important in your lives and gathering your thoughts and ideas. It helps me be a better representative.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. It has been a true joy and honor. I would love to continue to be a strong voice for you at the Capitol with your vote this coming election!
