Two local residents were injured Tuesday in Olmsted County when a vehicle they were driving struck a concrete bridge guardrail on U.S. Highway 63.

Heidi Marie Enger, 49, of New Richland and Sandra Lynn Bolinger, 68, of Albert Lea were taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Marys campus with injuries deemed not life-threatening.

Enger was driving a 2003 Lincoln LS sedan, merging on the ramp from eastbound Interstate 90 to Highway 63 when the vehicle hydroplaned from the ramp and lost control due to wet conditions, striking the concrete bridge guardrail at about 9:55 a.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office and Stewartville Fire Department assisted on scene.

Enger and Bolinger were wearing their seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report states.
