Albert Lea High School was briefly placed on lockdown Friday morning after an altercation between two students in a hallway.

“To ensure classes were not distracted, teachers were told to shut and lock their doors, which is our practice when there is a hallway disturbance of this nature,” the Albert Lea school district said in a statement.

Albert Lea Deputy Chief of Police Darren Hanson said the incident was reported before 10 a.m.

The students were not arrested.

“The issue was resolved in about 10 minutes, and the building resumed to normal operations,” the district said.

“The safety of all of our students remains the district’s top priority.”
