Letter: Marin will listen to people’s concerns

I, also, am endorsing George Marin for mayor.

I first met Pastor George when he came to the Adult Detention Center as a volunteer over 15 years ago. I asked him to come to do a spiritual program that we called music ministry. It was a hit from the word go. He would start with a short kind of sermon, continue with any prayers that the inmates requested for themselves or their families and end it with beautiful music. It was the most attended program in the jail. He listened to the inmates — and I mean listened to them. That is what he would do for us.

He is an approachable man who will listen to our concerns. No matter how small, he would listen. That is what we need in our city — a man who cares about everyone. A man who isn’t afraid to stand up for what he believes in.
