Funeral services for Vera A. Wallin, 96, of Glenville will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Vicar Joshua Blair will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Vera died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community.

Vera A. Wallin was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Lee and Katherine (Attig) Tuttle. She resided in the Albert Lea and Glenville area. Vera attended grade school at Greene Country School and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1940.

On April 25, 1943, Vera was united in marriage to Verl Wallin at her parents’ home. They resided together on their farm for over 71 years.

She was a member of Glenville First Lutheran Church, where she was active in Ladies’ Aide, the Altar Guild and taught Sunday school. Vera enjoyed camping, crafts and spending winters in Mesa, Arizona. She loved square dancing and was a member of Grapevine Twist for many years.

Vera is survived by her son, Douglas (Julie) Wallin; daughter, Kathleen (Gordon) Toenges; eight grandchildren, Mark (Amy) Wallin, DeAnn (Mike) Read, Karen (Gabe) Beal, Janet (Eric) Sparrow, Brian (Kelli) Wallin, Kari (Paul) Wendt, Katie (Luke) Nielsen and Kristine (Shane) Christensen; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Verl; parents Katherine and Lee; two children, Sylvia and Darryl, in infancy; sister, Evelyn (Carroll) Olson; brother, Warren Tuttle; and sister-in-law, Norma Tuttle.
