Letter: Nelson is dedicated and committed

I am guessing I am like many of you when there are issues or situations that come along to have thought “I should write a letter to the editor.” Usually, it’s just a passing thought without taking the time to actually put pen to paper (or fingers to keys). That is until now: I am raising my hand to voice my support for Kim Nelson for District 241 school board. When I heard Kim was running for the school board, I could not have been more pleased knowing our district would be served well by her. I have known Kim as a business manager, child care director, community volunteer, church council member, soccer booster, friend and mom. A common denominator of the different roles Kim holds is her ability to collaborate. She brings people together with different points of view, listens and helps develop the pathway towards a positive outcome. At a time when we see and hear divisiveness both locally and nationally, it is more important than ever to have individuals who can listen and question while acting as part of a team to achieve the goals. As a lifelong learner, Kim continues to seek knowledge through organizational and communication courses, both in her profession and on her personal time. Kim Nelson is exactly the right person at the right time to serve our school district. I applaud her dedication and commitment to serve our youngest community members, and I will confidently place a check mark next to Kim Nelson’s name on the ballot for District 241.
