Maryann M. Battin, 53, of Austin passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. Maryann Marie Olson was born Aug. 24, 1965, in Austin to Donald and Leona (Anderson) Olson. She grew up in Austin and attended Austin High School, graduating in 1985.

On June 15, 2002, Maryann married Thomas Battin at First United Methodist Church in Austin. She was a lifelong resident of Austin and worked at Cedar Valley Services Inc. as a packager. Maryann was a longtime member of First United Methodist church in Austin, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed socializing and getting together with friends, eating out, shopping, listening to music, watching movies and liked cats. Maryann was also an avid reader/book worm, and liked working on word puzzles. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Battin, of St. Peter; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Leona Olson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Austin. The Rev. Dennis Tamke will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Albert Lea.
