The Albert Lea boys’ swim team hosted its first home meet of the season Thursday night, falling to Winona, 88-48.

Head coach Clay Scott adopted a new workout routine after the first meet of the season, and it has already begun to pay dividends.

“By slightly decreasing the yardage being swum, we have ramped up the intensity by creating faster workouts with shorter rests,” he said. “This new approach, along with the strength and ab workouts, has really seemed to be paying off.”

The Tigers fall to 0-4 on the season and will be back in the pool after the new year on Jan. 3 in Austin.
