Theodore John “Ted” Stevermer, 82, of Easton died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Matt Fasnacht will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church Thursday. Interment will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Barber Township, Faribault County. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family. Theodore John was born July 20, 1936, in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, the son of Rudolph and Evelyn (Peterson) Stevermer. Ted was a graduate of Wells-Easton High School’s class of 1954. Ted married Lorraine Dawson on Nov. 11, 1967, in Easton.

Ted farmed and worked at Blue Coach in Stokely and at Green Giant for the pea pack. After retiring in 1981 from factory work, he helped local farmers and continued to farm on his own. Ted was the superintendent of the poultry barn at the Faribault County Fair for many years. Ted knew a lot of bird species, and while driving by a lake or pond would pull out his binoculars and see what kind of birds or ducks were on the water. He loved his animals and attending county fairs.

Ted was very proud of his antique tractor collection and loved tinkering with them.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine; twin sons in infancy; and grandson, Nicholas Rude.

Ted is survived by his children Connie (Doug) Rude of White Bear Lake and Dennis Stevermer (fiancee, Tina Stelter) of Wells; granddaughter, Kayla (Evan) Beranek, of Bloomington; a great-grandson on the way; three special girls, Samantha, Brooklyn and Clair Stelter; siblings Nancy (Art) Breitbarth of Bloomington and Kathleen Neilsen of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
