5 arrested for violations and other reports

Items stolen, damaged

A red 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis was reported stolen at 9:02 p.m. Saturday at 411 S. Broadway Ave. The vehicle was recovered Sunday.

Guns and belongings were reported taken at 5:45 p.m. Friday at 212 S. Washington Ave.

A fish finder and a laptop computer were reported taken from a garage at 12:56 p.m. Friday at 2205 Bridge Ave. The incident allegedly occurred Wednesday. Estimated loss was $3,297.

Property was reported broken into and a couple of vehicles, straps, a 14-inch Stihl chainsaw and a 20-inch, flat-screen TV were reported missing at 1:33 p.m. Friday at 17909 760th Ave. One truck was reported recovered.

A car was reported vandalized at 11:33 p.m. Friday at 19715 780th Ave.

A front license plate was reported missing from a vehicle at 1:43 p.m. Friday at 302 Court St. The license plate was entered as stolen.

A break-in was reported at 6:40 p.m. Saturday at Iglesia Emmanuel church, 214 S. Washington Ave. A black safe in the back not belonging to the church was found.

 

5 arrested for violations

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Darren Robert Pettersen, 29, for felony first-degree driving while intoxicated, felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, a stop sign violation, gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation and an open bottle violation after a pursuit was reported at 12:08 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of 655th Avenue and 310th Street in the Hartland area.

Albert Lea police arrested Mark Nicholis Martinez, 35, for third-degree test refusal, fourth-degree DWI and an open container violation during a traffic stop at 11:53 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of East Main Street and South Newton Avenue.

Deputies arrested Randy Leon Rippentrop, 58, for a harassment restraining order violation after a violation of a harassment order was reported at 8:08 p.m. Saturday at 22480 810th Ave. in the Hayward area.

Police arrested Mor Byeh, 40, after a careless driving complaint was reported at 6:09 p.m. Friday at 141 S. Newton Ave. Byeh was arrested after a white Ford pickup was “all over the road, driving on the wrong side, stopped in the middle of the road for long periods,” police documents state.

Police arrested Melissa Sue Rack, 37, for domestic assault after a domestic incident was reported at 9:10 a.m. Sunday at 826 S. Fourth Ave.

 

Roaming chickens reported

Chickens were reportedly roaming and chasing children and a dog at 3:51 p.m. Saturday at 318 E. Eighth St. The owner of the animals was in the hospital at the time of the incident.
