Where are you from?

I was born in Milwaukee, but was raised in Albert Lea because my family moved back when I was 2.

Which elementary school did you attend?

Lakeview.

Favorite teacher and why?

I’ve honestly loved all of my teachers, but my favorite would probably have to be Mrs. Wayne. She’s always in a good mood that rubs off on others, and she genuinely cares about each of her students. Whenever I see her in the hallway she has this beaming smile on her face, and she never hesitates to give me a hug.

Favorite book/author:

“The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins.

Current/past activities, volunteer work and accomplishments:

Small group leader in First Presbyterian’s youth group, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, choir, show choir, chorale, band, swimming, softball, dance team (choreographer), environmental awareness club (secretary), key club (president), National Honor Society (secretary), prom committee (treasurer), FOR club, link crew, 2017 fall musical, lifeguard at the Albert Lea Family Y and City Pool, Albert Lea High School Wall of Inspiration inductee.

Plans for after high school:

I’ll be majoring in biology at Creighton University on the pre-med track. I hope to continue my education at Creighton’s medical school and become a surgeon.

Advice you’d give to younger students:

I would say one of the best things you can do in life is serve others and be kind. Not only does volunteering help other people, it’s also very fulfilling for you personally. You never know how much of an impact a small act of kindness can make.
