Letter: Dems aren’t perfect but care about others

It has come apparent that people need to be reminded what President Obama inherited when he took over back in 2008. Two wars started by President Bush were going on with no plan of how to pay for it. The stock market took a huge dip, unemployment was way up and the auto industry was in disarray, just to mention a few crises of many that were going on. Did you forget all that?
The GOP made it clear they were going to make life miserable for Obama while in office, even trashing good ideas as they didn’t want him to succeed, as Rush Limbaugh openly said on his radio show. Did you forget that?
In the first two years of Trump’s presidency, there has been a 65 percent turnover rate among senior-level advisers at the White House, according to the Brookings Institution, a Washington think tank. His leadership is clearly dysfunctional while promoting more hate and bullying. Roughly 3,000 misleading and lying statements during the past two years, creating a huge division among the people in the United States. What other president do you know in American history who called people names repeatedly?
Even GOP’s Mitch McConnell acknowledges that enough hasn’t been done for the middle class as to tax cuts. Many people believe there is a pot of gold at the end of rainbow waiting for them this tax season. People, I hate to disappoint you, it is corporate America and the rich who are screaming for joy from the Trump tax cuts. Mr. fake bone spur Trump is looking out for himself and his cronies only — never anybody else.
Of course Democrats would have liked to have won more races. They acknowledge they are dealing with much false information found on the internet. Despite what happens, you’re going to see more investigations into all the alleged fraud that Trump is involved in as he lies every day. Trump may die of a heart attack before it’s all over.
Unfortunately, here on the state level I’m already seeing more inaccurate statements put out by the GOP — particularly GOP Rep. Kurt Daudt. So much for working together. It will be interesting to see if we get another bill roughly 8,000 pages long minutes before the end of session this year like last year. “War and Peace” is roughly 1,280 pages long. People complain how long it takes to read that book. Try reading it six times in a short amount of time as allotted by the GOP.
I used to be a Republican, and a proud one, until I discovered what is really going on in America as to the changes. Even former GOP Gov. Arne Carlson disapproves what is going on. Are the Democrats perfect? No, never said they were. At least they have dignity and care about people and will work to protect our water, land and citizens. I believe that’s what a loving God would want.
