4 arrested for DWI

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Dennis Lance Honsey, 32, for second-degree driving while intoxicated, false information and an open container violation after a vehicle was reported in the ditch at 10:26 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 720th Avenue and 125th Street in the Glenville area. Honsey reportedly had a .22 blood alcohol content and was taken to the hospital due to being intoxicated and for precautionary reasons.

Deputies arrested Steve Allen Cole, 36, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated during a traffic stop at 1:03 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and 160th Street in the Glenville area. Cole reportedly had a .10 BAC.

Deputies arrested Jeremy Patrick Brink, 42, for DWI test refusal and obstructing the legal process during a traffic stop at 1:07 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of 790th Avenue and 255th Street.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Olen Bradshaw Evans, 66, for second-degree driving while intoxicated after a vehicle reportedly went in the ditch at 7:20 p.m. Monday in the area of State Line Road and 797th Avenue.

 

Child abuse/neglect reported

A report of a 9-year-old girl having bruises after coming home from a stepmother’s house was made at 11:09 a.m. Monday in the Clarks Grove area.

 

Crash involving city truck reported

A two-vehicle crash with no injuries involving a city of Albert Lea truck was reported at 4:58 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Southeast Broadway Avenue and Margaretha Avenue.

 

Thefts, damage reported

Parts were reported sold to someone who used a check from a closed account at 12:35 p.m. Friday at Motor Inn, 2114 E. Main St. Loss was estimated at $365.84.

A Savage 220 white, snow camo, 20-gauge, left-handed, bolt-action shotgun was reported stolen at 3:20 p.m. Saturday at 245 Oak St. in Emmons.

A back window on a white Smart car was reported smashed at 7:49 a.m. Saturday at 514 Larimore Circle. No suspects were reported. A tire iron was found in the rear cargo area that did not belong with the vehicle. Damage was estimated at approximately $350.

Several televisions, fridges and microwaves were reported taken at 12:11 p.m. Saturday at the former Bel Aire Motor Inn, 700 U.S. Highway 69.

Two tires on a 2004 Chevy Blazer were reported slashed at 1:03 p.m. Saturday at 615 E. Sixth St. No suspects were reported. Damage was estimated at $350.

An iPhone SE with a black Magpul case was reported stolen from a family bathroom in the electronics section at 10:38 p.m. Saturday at Walmart. The incident allegedly occurred at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Video surveillance of someone stealing groceries was reported at 9:19 p.m. Sunday at Walmart. A suspect was identified.

A license plate was reported taken from the front of a vehicle at 12:05 p.m. Monday at 119 McArthur Drive.

Possible fraud was reported at 12:15 p.m. Monday at 922 1/2 Jefferson Ave.

Someone was reportedly notified by Verizon Wireless that someone ordered five phones on her account at 6:10 p.m. Monday at 2301 E. Main St. The phones were shipped to the Main Street address.

 

4 arrested, cited for violations

Albert Lea police arrested John Harris Spence for gross misdemeanor false name and driving after revocation after a gray, four-door sedan reportedly hit a mailbox and was sitting partially in the road at 5:39 p.m. Friday at 2301 Stevens St.

Police cited Amber Nicole Armstrong for driving after suspension and theft after an attempted taking of a jacket, air mattress and clothing were reported at 9:07 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave. At the scene, police cited Shannon Marie Armstrong for theft.

Deputies cited a 17-year-old girl for disorderly conduct after disorderly conduct was reported at 7:01 p.m. Sunday at 72366 239th St.

 

1 arrested on warrant

Police arrested Daxtor Johnathon Franklin Harvey on a local warrant after a report he was at a bar was made at 1:12 a.m. Sunday at 134 W. William St.

 

Smoke reported

Smoke was reported in a house at 10:26 a.m. Friday at 16295 897th Ave. in the Glenville area.
