AnnJeanette O. Lee, 85, of Avoca, Iowa, formerly of Minden, Iowa, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at Avoca Specialty Care in Avoca.

AnnJeanette was born March 21, 1933, in Albert Lea to the late Albert and Tilda (Larson) Opdahl. She graduated from Alden High School in 1951. AnnJeanette married Bernie Lee on Sept. 2, 1950, in Minnesota. They were blessed with five children: Aurora, Marcus, Forrest, Dana and Meredith. AnnJeanette worked as a customer service rep. for Ford Motor Credit for eight years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the women’s circle in Avoca. She was an author and horse collector.

In addition to her parents, AnnJeanette was preceded in death by her daughter, Aurora Jeanette Lee, in 1967; sister, Norma Jones; and brothers Truman and Donald Opdahl.

AnnJeanette is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bernie Lee, of Avoca; sons Marcus (Carol) Lee of Jefferson, Iowa, Forrest “Frosty” Lee of Stuttgart, Germany, Dana (Deb) Lee of Minneapolis and Meredith “Tiger” (Connie) Lee of Avoca; 10 grandchildren; eight-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
