1. Tigers Roar

It’s that time of year again. Tigers Roar returns to serve as a talent showcase for students and as a fundraiser for fine arts programs and resources. This year’s theme is “Roar Going Viral,” and includes such talents as singing, skit performing, instrumentals and plenty of comedy. Shows are at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Albert Lea High School auditorium. Admission is $5 for everyone; no district passes are valid for the event. Tickets are available at the door beginning at 6:15 p.m. each night.

Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students, and can be purchased from figure skating club members or at Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau. 3. Norwegians in Minnesota

Freelance photographer and public speaker Doug Ohman will present Norwegians in Minnesota at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Albert Lea City Council chambers. Attendees can travel throughout Minnesota with Ohman as he explores Norwegian sites and locations. The visual tour will tell the story of the state’s third-largest immigrant group — when did they arrive, where did they settle and what role did they play in Minnesota’s history?

4. Outdoorman’s Main Event

The ninth annual Outdoorman’s Main Event will be Friday at Crossroads Church in Albert Lea. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with the main event starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 each, with children under 5 being free. Tickets entitle attendees to a meal, which will consist of venison, walleye and more, as well as a chance to win door prizes. The guest speaker this year is KJLY radio announcer Allen Jones. Tickets can be purchased through the church’s Facebook page.

5. Live music at The Interchange

Local singer-songwriter Chloe Hope will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at The Interchange in downtown Albert Lea. The night will consist of original songs, covers and a few favorite classics. There is no cover charge for the event.
