Letter: It’s time to stop the witch hunt

The Mueller investigation has been going on for more than two years now. In other words, we are more than two years into a Democratic-fuelled witch hunt that has failed to turn up a single fragment of evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government. The Russia investigation has been nothing more than a waste of more than $25 million that could have been used to fix our crumbling infrastructure, pay off some of the national debt or investigate real crimes. President Trump has been subjected to more presidential harassment than any president in the history of the United States, solely for the reason that the Democratic Party has nothing else to complain about during President Trump’s very successful presidency. The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Sen. Richard Burr, has said time and time again that the committee does not see any evidence that the Trump campaign (the president included) colluded with the Russian government. Rep. Devin Nunes said the exact same thing while he was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee: There is no (zero) evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Why do we continue to waste money on this politically motivated witch hunt, when nothing good or bad has come out of it? It has been nothing but a waste of time and money. When the Democrats became the majority in the House, they had the chance to show they were willing to put partisan politics aside and do what was best for the American people. Instead, they came out of the gates shouting “collusion” and “impeach.” The star of their first hearing, Michael Cohen, is a known and admitted liar and crook who is going to jail. Why he was the star witness in a House Judiciary hearing, I have no idea. House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler has been on almost every news station in the past week on what I call a media impeachment tour. It is time for the Democrats to stop with the Russia witch hunt, and end the Mueller investigation now — not millions of dollars from now, not months from now. The American people are sick and tired of this witch hunt, and it is time for Congress to end it.
