Hot water heater on fire

A tankless hot water heater was reported on fire in a basement at 12:48 p.m. Thursday at 608 Fountain St. According to the Fire Department, the fire was able to be extinguished and was contained the area surrounding the water heater. The fire appeared to have started from a malfunction.

 

Man arrested after traffic stop

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested James Roosevelt Rutherford, 58, for third-degree test refusal, speeding and improper turn after a traffic stop at 1:44 a.m. Friday at 1318 E Main St.

 

Dryer reported on fire

A dryer was reported on fire at 7:07 p.m. Thursday at Maytag Megaload Laundry, 2320 Hendrickson Road. The Fire Department stated the fire was contained to the dryer and appeared to have started from a malfunction.
