Dryer starts on fire in Alden

- Firefighters from Alden and Freeborn fire departments responded to a report of a fire Tuesday afternoon at 328 N. Broadway in Alden. No one was injured, and firefighters could be seen extinguishing a fire in a dryer that was pulled out of the back of the house. According to Assistant Chief Paul Weigel with the Alden Fire Department, the fire was contained to the dryer, though there was some smoke damage in the house. - Sarah Stultz/Albert Lea Tribune
