The Lake Mills girls’ track and field team hosted the Bulldog relays Monday night, competing against 12 other teams for the meet crown.

The Bulldogs picked up four third-place finishes and one fourth-place finish, but it wasn’t enough to beat the competition. They finished the meet in ninth place with 36.5 points, while Osage ran away with the trophy with 129 points.

Taking third place in individual events were sophomore Taylor Ingledue and junior Kate Groe. Ingledue placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.63 and Groe finished third in the discus with a throw of 94-07.

Two relay teams also took third place. Both teams consisted of Ingledue, senior Lyv Arispe, junior Megan Groe and freshman Brooke Bergo. They placed third in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 55.62 and the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 2:01.36.

The same group of four also won the Bulldogs’ lone fourth-place finish of the day in the 800-meter sprint medley with a time of 2:05.18.

“It is always nice to have a home meet and show the community what we have been training for,” said head coach Skyler Ahrens. “The weather decided not to cooperate with us, but the girls adapted and competed.”

The Bulldogs will compete again Friday when they travel to Hampton-Dumont.
