The Albert Lea Transfer Station and Demolition Landfill started its summer schedule Monday. During the summer schedule, the transfer station will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The summer schedule will continue until Sept. 30.

Services provided at the transfer station include household garbage, demolition debris and brush disposal, and electronics, used oil, appliance, scrap metal, cardboard/paper and glass and can recycling. Those with a compost permit also have access to yard waste composting. Compost and wood chips are free at the site when available.
