Tigers baseball earn narrow win in regular season finale

The Albert Lea baseball team picked up a one-run victory over Fairmont to close out the regular season.

Mutli-hit games from seniors Ian Ball and Carter Simon, and junior Koby Hendrickson fueled Tigers to a 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Senior Brock Hammer and junior Gavyn Tlamka shared time of the mound Monday night. Hammer picked up the win, pitching 3.1 innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out three.

Tlamka pitched 3.2 innings, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks and striking out four.

Simon led the way with three hits and one run. Ball and Hendrickson each had two hits, Ball scoring a run and Hendrickson notching an RBI.

Sophomores Jack Jellinger and Cody Yokiel, senior Jake Ball and Tlamka each added one hit.

The Tigers move to 7-12 on the season as they await to learn their first-round opponent in the section tournament.
