Report: The grant funding from the Freeborn County Communities Foundation has provided for maintenance work at Wilderness North in the Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota, according to a press release. Wilderness North has served as a Tentmakers training center for the last 30 years. The contribution will be used directly in the purchase of materials to replace the roof on the Wilderness North Mentor House. According to the release, the project was sorely needed.
The grant has also been used to rebuild and replace the boys’ and girls’ bucket showers, as well as the platforms upon which tents are erected for the participants in the leadership quest for high school students.
