George Goskeson, 1931-2019

Funeral services for George S. Goskeson, 87, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by local veterans organizations. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church Monday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

George Goskeson

George died Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

George S. Goskeson was born July 3, 1931, in Albert Lea, the son of Goske and Selma (Legried) Goskeson. He attended No. 20 Barlow School and No. 58 Big Oak School.

On Feb. 4, 1951, George was united in marriage to Deloris Indrelie. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, honorably discharged at the rank of corporal.

George worked as a driver for Red Owl and Albert Lea Bus Co. He was a member of First Lutheran Church as well as the American Legion and the Elks Club. George enjoyed bowling, softball, snowmobiling and cooking on fishing trips. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially playing the “dime game.” George was a hard worker and very organized.

George is survived by his wife, Deloris; children Steven (Cinde) Goskeson, Shari (Steve) Fligge, Kendra (Blake) Johnson and Lynn (Paul) Koziolek; seven grandchildren, Dustin Goskeson, Elissa (Eric) Volkman, Emily Goskeson, Gage (Abby) Flatness, Ryley Koziolek, Logan Johnson and Sydney Koziolek; brother, Orville Goskeson; sister, Evelyn Carlson; brothers-in-law Dale (Peggy) Indrelie and Robert (Shirley) Indrelie; sisters-in-law Lois Tukua and Delores Indrelie; and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents Goske and Selma; son, Kevin Goskeson; brothers Thomas (Bette) Goskeson and James (Norma) Goskeson; brothers-in-law Lowell Indrelie, Ed Tukua and Ronald Carlson; and sister-in-law, Irene Goskeson.
