Two Worth County employees injured

Two Worth County employees were injured Tuesday morning in a workplace incident.

Lynn Butler, 55, of Northwood was taken by Mason City Fire and Ambulance to Mercy One North Iowa with injuries deemed serious but not life-threatening. Brian Wallin, 39, of Northwood was  taken by private vehicle to the hospital.

According to the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, Wallin was treated for his injuries and released, and Butler was admitted to the hospital and as of Wednesday morning remained in hospital care.

The Sheriff’s Office stated dispatchers received a 911 call at 7:18 a.m. Tuesday that a blade from a road grader had fallen on a person at the Worth County Secondary Roads Department shop at South 13th Street in Northwood and that the person was conscious and breathing but was injured.

The deputy first to arrive discovered there were two injured.
