1 injured in crash

A woman was injured Monday evening after a crash in front of Trail’s Travel Center.

Elizabeth Jean Silva, 21, of Albert Lea was taken by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to police.

Police stated Silva was pulling out on Happy Trails Lane in a 2003 Chevy Cavalier at 5:31 p.m. when she was struck by a 2014 Dodge Ram driven by Thomas John Capp, 69, of Austin, who was traveling east on Freeborn County Road 46.

 

Woman arrested for drunk driving

Deputies arrested Sheryl Ann Sorenson, 61, for third-degree driving while intoxicated after receiving a careless driving complaint at 7:37 p.m. Monday near the intersection of 770th Avenue and South Independence Avenue.

 

Break-ins, thefts reported

A shed for Cedar Valley Services was reported broken into at 7:59 a.m. Monday at 2205 Myers Road.

More than $1,500 in tools were reported stolen from a trailer at 11:16 a.m. Monday at 426 Adams Ave.

A push mower was reported stolen at 2:14 p.m. Monday from 1302 Fairlane Terrace.

A gas drive-off was reported at 6:37 p.m. Monday at 309 E. Main St. in Clarks Grove. Value was $32.

 

Man arrested on warrant

Deputies arrested Randy Leon Rippentrop, 58, on an arrest warrant at 10:32 a.m. Monday at 411 S. Broadway.
