Gary married Nancy Ellen Chapman on July 7, 1962, and throughout their years together they had lived in Albert Lea, California and Alaska, where Gary worked on the pipeline. They later returned to Albert Lea and opened Petals and Bows Floral Shop. Nancy proceeded Gary in death on Oct. 1, 1998.
