On Nov. 26, 1960, he was united in marriage to Trena (Bolhuis) in Hollandale. To this union, three children were born.

Marvin worked at the Albert Lea Foundry for 33 years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed riding his lawn mower, moving snow, fishing, camping, gardening and always enjoyed a good cup of coffee. More than anything, Marvin loved when he could spend time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Trena; parents Eric and Olga Espe; siblings Velma Houchin, Marion McClough, Helen Dean, Marlys Thostenson and Merlin (Beverly) Espe; and brothers-in-law Daniel Bolhuis, Henry Bolhuis and Bill Noordhoek.

Marvin is survived by his children Marilynn (Todd) Lancaster, Michelle (Todd) Oakland, Marlin (Lynn) Espe and Martie Carlsgaard; grandchildren Brook (Cristian) Lopez, Eric (Britani) Espe, Natalie (Timothy Kastens) Oakland, Andrew (Samantha Lein) Borland, Jacob Borland, Tyler (Brenna Classen) Espe, Marissa Oakland, Morgan Espe and Brandon Espe; great-grandchildren Gracelynn Lopez, Cristian Lopez, Leighton Borland, Evelynn Lopez and Levi Espe; sisters-in-law Anna Noordhoek and Gloria Bolhuis; Dean, the dog; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Marvin was never in a hurry; you may have heard him say, “I’ll get there when I get there” or “If you’re in that big of a hurry, you shoulda left yesterday!” Well, Marvin, you’ve made it there! Marvin and Trena will reunite in heaven after just two months apart.

Blessed be his memory.
