Letter: Law enforcement deserve higher pay

I am writing this letter in regard to the sheriff’s pay raise. He is getting $113,9522. I have one question on this: “Why is his pay and that of his deputies and the police officers getting paid less than our new city manager and maybe even our mayor? They put their lives in danger every day or night they are working. Is it more dangerous to push a chair or rollers away from a desk than it is to chase a person who has stolen, robbed or broken into a home or business? There is really something wrong with this, so when people are complaining about the wages of these people, stop and think about it and be glad they are so willing to work in our community. I’m sure this is why we have such a hard time getting people to work here.
