Letter: Letter included far-left accusations

For someone claiming “politics don’t interest me in the least,” Michael Schoepf seems awfully interested in politics. Politically uninterested people don’t call presidents “serial liars,” read the fine print on town hall announcements or write political letters to the editor.

In reality, Mr. Schoepf’s letter is nothing more than a recitation of the false accusations by the far left group Indivisible that Rep. Hagedorn is “out of touch” and “doesn’t listen.”

Considering Indivisible believes our Border Patrol agents preside over concentration camps, taxpayers should pay for the health care of illegal immigrants, and the government should eliminate the private health insurance plans of 158 million Americans, it’s no wonder they’d prefer not to discuss the issues.

So here are some facts regarding Rep. Hagedorn’s accessibility: Rep Hagedorn has committed to holding a town hall in all 21 1st District counties over the next year. The town hall in Albert Lea will be his fifth in-person town hall in less than three months, and his town halls are the same length as those of 2nd District Democratic Rep. Angie Craig.

And if all else fails, constituents can write, call or email Rep. Hagedorn. But my guess is it’s not Rep. Hagedorn’s so-called “accessibility” that’s bothersome. It’s his rejection of the far-left policies of today’s DFL and his embrace of a strong defense, a secure border, free enterprise and our God-given Constitutional rights that’s behind all this concern.
