Two area residents were injured Friday morning after a crash on Minnesota Highway 13 near the entrance to Interstate 90.

Morgan Ann Phillips, 20, of Hartland and Mary Charlotte Stoneback, 70, of Alden were taken by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The State Patrol report indicated Stoneback was driving a 2018 Honda CR-V northbound on Highway 13 at 9 a.m. when she began to cross the southbound traffic, attempting to enter the westbound Interstate 90 on-ramp, and drove into the path of a 2013 Ford Taurus, driven by Phillips.

Roads were wet at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The Albert Lea police and fire departments assisted, along with the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.
