Many individuals, couples and family members have suffered the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death, according to a press release. Frequently, people have suffered in silence without letting others know about their experience or have had their pain dismissed.
If you or someone close to you has suffered such a loss, a support group is being offered Wednesdays from Oct. 9 to Oct. 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The group will provide a place for families to connect, share their unique story of loss and learn to live life without their baby. Together, the organizers of the event are trying to break down the barriers associated with the isolation and sadness of pregnancy and infant loss, the release stated. The group will be facilitated by the Rev. Eileen Woyen from Trinity Lutheran Church and Judy Popp-Anderson, grief care provider at Bonnerup Funeral Service.
A free meal will be served at 5 p.m. for those wishing to attend. The group will start at 6:30 p.m. Whether your loss is recent or was many years ago, you are welcome to attend. Those who plan to attend are asked to use the office entrance at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 S. Washington Ave. in Albert Lea.
For more information, call Woyen at 373-2466 or Popp-Anderson at 373-2461.
