Local students graduate

Madeline Dahl of Albert Lea received her masters degree in food nutrition and sciences, Matthew Fruechte of Albert Lea received a bachelor’s degree in applied math and computer science, and Linsey Thisius of Wells received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Amelia Evenson of Lake Mills recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Buena Vista University. She was also named to the Buena Vista University dean’s list for the spring semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5, based on a 4.0 grade point system, and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

Normandale Community College honored more than 1,200 graduates at its graduation ceremony on May 20 at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis. Among those graduating was Brooke Plantage of Albert Lea, who majored in nursing.

RCTC announces spring grads

Rochester Community and Technical College announced its spring semester 2019 graduates.

Area students included Brice Bias of Alden; Alicia Baseman of Lake Mills; and Joshua Knudtson, Paige Overgaard and Lance Perkins of New Richland.

Chancellor’s award winners named

The University of Wisconsin-Stout released its chancellor’s award winners for the spring term. The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Among those awarded the honor was Matthew Fruechte and Brandon Hernandez of Albert Lea, and Kate Koestler and Linsey Thisius of Wells.

Kensett student honored

Amy Rollene was named to Buena Vista University dean’s list for spring semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5, based on a 4.0 grade point system, and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

A.L. student recognized

Mercer University recently announced the president’s list for the spring 2019 semester. Among those honored was Priyadharshine Ramesh Babu, a junior at the College of Liberal Arts.
