Funeral services for Delores A. Stencel of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Kurt Farrell will officiate. Interment will be in  Calvary Cemetery in New Richland. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Delores died Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. She was 90.

She was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Minnesota Lake, the daughter of Vincent and Anna (Veloske) Rathai. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School with the class of 1947.

Delores was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Donald P. Stencel, on Oct. 26, 1948, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. Together they made their home in Albert Lea and were blessed with a daughter, Kimberly.

Delores was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. She lived her faith and spent her life caring for others. She enjoyed crafting, embroidery and baking.

Delores is survived by her daughter, Kimberly; sister-in-law, Agnes Rathai; nieces and nephews, Curtis Rathai, Marilyn Stenzel, Lavern and Trish Sailor, Alvin Knutson, and Julie Sailor and their families.

She was preceded in death by husband, Donald Stencel; parents Vincent and Anna Rathai; siblings Everald Sailor (Ira), Marvin Rathai, and Maynard Rathail; and nephew-in-law, LeRoy Stenzel.

In lieu of flowers, Mass memorials or to a charity of the donor’s choice are suggested.
